Mountains and more

"Savior, He can move the Mountains, My God is mighty to save, He is mighty to save".

For I know the plans I have for you "declares the LORD", plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11

Our Recent trip to Oregon/Washington

We had such an amazing trip. I am always excited to go to Oregon to see my family. This year, we decided to take the opportunity to go to the Seattle area for a number of purposes. Our main goal was to visit World Vision Headquarters to get a feel for the work environment there, as it is our desire for Bob to get an accounting job with World Vision. We had an amazing time there, as our half-hour tour turned into over two hours of time with the Tour guide answering detailed questions about employment, talking about living out there, etc. It was a God-given time! Our second purpose was to learn of the land and of the living. We had several suburbs we wanted to check into, and we got to most of them. We saw neighborhoods, saw schools, visited parks, and even local donut shops! (lol at Bob) We met such wonderful people, in totally unexpected places (like one of the donut shops), who gave us great information. Third, we wanted to see mountains. And mountains we saw! We took the Mt. Baker highway up to the Mt. Baker area, where the kids were able to play in snow, while in shorts and sandals! We drove up to Mt. St. Helens, and took in the awesome amazing views of the re-growth of God's nature from the expolosion 30 years ago. And everywhere we went, there she was. She? Mt. Rainier! She is the most amazing mountain! Two things the Lord always brought to my mind was the lyrics from Mighty to Save; He can move the mountains....when you are admist all the mountains, it really made that truth so much more amazing. As we long to live there admist those mountains, God was reminding me of His other truth from Jeremiah 29:11. As Bob and I dream about living there, we also think, what if he doesnt get a job...what if...what if? Its at those moments, I lean on my Lord, my Savior, who saves, who can move the mountains, who can provide Bob with an amazing job, and I am overcome with peace and joy, knowing He has plans of hope for us. He knows our hearts desire. He knows how my heart aches for my family out there, and how I desire to be closer to them. He knows it all; He already has His plans in the works. We need to trust in Him, listen to Him, and prepare ye the way for Him and His plans. So we have come back home with a list of goals to accomplish within the next year, in preparation for a likely move. About 8-9 months ago, we had a list of a few things we wanted to see happen before we even thought about moving. First, we had to sell our house. Okay, well 3 weeks later, and it was sold! My Mom, who is going to go with us, also wanted to wait till her Dad passed into the hands of the Lord before moving. The day after my Mom returned from her vacation in Oregon, her Dad passed away. So, we definitely see Gods hand at work. Please pray for us, that we will earnestly seek God's will and follow His ways. Pray that we will be able to meet our goals that we have set for the next school year, so that we can start applying for jobs late April, and hopefully move during next summer. Even if it seems impossible for us to meet goals, we know that God is able! Just as He is able to move the mountains. - Janell
