Time

The time has come~ this time tomorrow we will be in the air on our way!

We are filled with many emotions right now; and just can't wait to land in Nairobi~

If I may, please specifically pray for safe flights, and for smooth times during our lay-overs; and for a smooth procedure through customs in London and Nairobi...........

Kwaheri for now! I hope to update from Nairobi on Saturday!!!!! If I can get myself away from kissin and hugging on my African family :)

Update by Bob at 6:45am ET: They should be on their final leg as I type this, as their flight from London to Nairobi departed about 5:20am ET this morning. They are due to arrive at 2pm ET (11am PT) today.

The kids were very, very hyper at the airport. Hopefully they calmed down for Janell/Jessica!

Not much sleep for me last night - very hard to rest knowing 3/5 of my family is travelling halfway around the world.

Update by Bob at 2pm (ET) on 6/5: According to the British Airways website, their flight arrived ten minutes ahead of schedule at 1:45pm ET or 8:45pm Nairobi time.

It is well after dark in Nairobi and raining, according to the local weather.

As soon as I actually hear from them, I will update again. Pamela has a cell phone capable of calling/texting me, so I'm hoping Janell will use it when she meets Pamela, which will likely be no earlier than 3pm ET/12pm PT.

Updated by Bob at 3:53pm on 06/05/09: PRAISE GOD! They are there and doing fabulous! I just spoke with Janell via cell phone, and everything could not have been better!

The flights were totally smooth with no problems whatsoever. Jake didn't sleep a wink on the transatlantic flight, but did on the leg to Nairobi, while Noah did just the opposite. However, for as hyper as they were at Cleveland, they were absolute angels on the flights, Janell said!!! Praise God especially for that one! She did note that they got antsy in London with the long layover and nothing to do!

She said there was absolutely no problems at the Nairobi airport w/the immense volume of luggage. Of special note - there was no customs! Wow - how's that for a change?!?!

They have not had a chance to change any money yet, but are planning to do so tomorrow and will hopefully get a chance to blog/email, too.

They made it safely to the house we are all staying in and are starting to unwind and unpack Jessica is even making popcorn, "Kenya-style" over a gas-burning stove....lol.

Once again, all the praise be to God for His safety in these travels for them and a hearty thank you to all who have been praying for them.

God Bless!
Bob
